New Life Woodworking was created to scratch an itch and contribute to sustainability.
As an avid woodworker, I needed a desktop for my home office. After planning the infrastructure of my office for months, I stumbled upon a section of bowling alley on craigslist and a light bulb went off in my head. I had my heart set on taking this piece of wood repurposed from a Polish center in Rochester, NY and turning it into a table top. I fell in love with the idea that this section of bowling alley was used and enjoyed for decades by thousands of people in my area. It also made me feel good about keeping this material from a landfill, and turning it into something new. I was giving this piece of wood a new life, hence the name "New Life Woodworking".
After my office was done, I needed another project to work on. So I bought another section of bowling alley and turned that into a freestanding table. Taking old wood and giving it new life, and using my woodworking skills was the scratch to an itch that I needed. The lightbulb that went off years ago has blossomed into a small business that I thoroughly enjoy. Now, I build these tables for customers locally and around the US.
I hope to expand this company and venture into other types of repurposed wood, other types of recycled materials and develop my skills to meet people's expectations and desired uses for their custom tables.
